In a new vlog, Slater Young reveals Skypod 3.0: The Rise at Monterrazas.
The Pinoy Big Brother winner-turned-engineer shared that the project needed to hit three pillars before it became possible.
Inspired by the Banaue Rice Terraces, the architectural project needs to be “forward,” “usable and beneficial,” and “sustainable.”
However, netizens shared mixed reactions towards the project, most of which had concerns about the environmental impact of the building.
The Rise at Monterrazas
Designed by LLG Architects and Engr. Slater Young, The Rise of Monterrazas sits on a mountainside in Monterrazas de Cebu, Brgy. Guadalupe, Cebu City.
Meanwhile, the project developer is the Mont Property Group (formerly Genvi Dev’t Corp.), a subsidiary of 8990 Holdings, Inc.
There are a total of 146 villas in the condominium which fills up a 19-floor building.
Despite being branded as a condominium, Monterrazas promises outdoor areas for all rooms, ensuring people living in it will have access to magnificent views.
Expected Turnover
However, even if it seems a dream too close, Monterrazas promises an estimated turnover date in 2028. Therefore, it is still five years before people can experience the architectural marvel.
The Rise of Monterrazas also requires interested clients to submit two government IDs, a reservation fee of 500,000 PHP, and a signed reservation agreement.
Social Media Reception
The Rise of Monterrazas drew mixed reactions from netizens. Although some praised its design which pays homage to the Banaue Rice Terraces, others also fear its environmental implications.

not to be a hater, pero fully being a hater, does slater young and his team realize the irony of "promoting green architecture" while destroying a literal mountain side orrrr are their STEM brains incapable of critical thought

Meanwhile, other netizens also asked Slater Young if the design was inspired by the Gods and Dreams Resort by 314 Architecture Studio, bearing almost the same facade and idea in mind.
