‘A Very Good Girl’ to Premiere in Hollywood on October 4th

A Very Good Girl’ starring “Triangle of Sadness” star Dolly de Leon, and Asia’s Superstar Kathryn Bernardo will soon premiere in the US on October 4 and will become available on October 6. The international release comes a week after its local release in the Philippines.

Directed by Petersen Vargas, the Star Cinema film will focus on Philo (Kathryn Bernardo) who wants to dismantle an empire to earn the ultimate payback from Mother Molly (Dolly de Leon). The film marks Star Cinema and its 30th year in the industry.

Unlike the usual Filipino films, ‘A Very Good Girl’ offers a twist to the typical movie experience as people slowly go back to watching in cinemas. “This is my first time experiencing this so this is something new for me, for Star Cinema, and it’s such an honor to be part of this experience,” Bernardo says. “Hopefully, this will open more opportunities not just for Star Cinema but also for other Filipino films.”

Meanwhile, De Leon states that she is really “excited for the upcoming release of ‘A Very Good Girl’ in North America.” She adds that it is a great opportunity for Philippine cinema to reach a wider audience and for filmgoers and movie lovers around the world to see that we really have a lot to offer and that the quality of work we do here is world-class.”

Golden Globe-Nominee, Dolly De Leon

‘A Very Good Girl’ will become Dolly De Leon’s first local stint after being nominated in the Golden Globes for “Triangle of Sadness.” Often a bit player, it also becomes De Leon’s first lead role in Philippine cinema. As of writing, De Leon is set to star in other international and local films in the upcoming year.
